Three Hyde Park institutions come together to present a screening of Hairy Who & The Chicago Imagists followed by a panel discussion: University of Chicago's Film Studies Center, the Smart Museum of Art, and the Hyde Park Art Center. This event is presented in conjunction with the yearlong celebrations of the Smart Museum's 30th anniversary and HPAC's 75th anniversary. The panel discussion will explore the roles of Hyde Park, its people, and its institutions in the history and legacy of Chicago Imagism.

Panel participants are: Richard Born (senior curator, Smart Museum of Art), Jim Falconer (artist, member of the original Hairy Who exhibition group), and Allison Peters Quinn (director of exhibitions and residency programs, Hyde Park Art Center). The discussion will be moderated by Rebecca Zorach (Professor of Art History, Romance Languages and Literatures, and The College at the University of Chicago).

Free tickets available at the door.

Seating is limited so please plan to arrive early.

Doors will open at 6pm for the 7pm screening.

Panel discussion will follow at approximately 8:45 pm. If seats remain available, guests who have already seen the film at a previous screening and would like to attend the panel discussion only can be seated at this time.
